i finally caved and got a gym membership so dave and i can motivate each other to work out.  i don't know how long it will last but hopefully we'll stick to it.  we've started our version of bridal/groom bootcamp.  Dave is my personal trainer and has been making me work all the different muscle groups and watching my form.  all i can say right now is... I'M SORE.  from lack of working out in the past year or so..... but it makes me sleep like a baby.  but oh so hard to get up.  Its been only week one but i want to stick to it.... i'm so weak - even a baby could probably beat me up.  But for now, we're aiming for 3 days a week....

On another note.... i got a haircut!  I chopped off my super long tresses for shoulder length layers and bangs.  it feels nice to not have hair weighing my head down.  i always tie it back for work anyway.... but It'll be long again by the time for the wedding.  But i'm happy b/c i found a place near here, that cuts well and is not overly pricey....

benkyo benkyo.... ganbarou!!!

non-functioning traffic light + busy intersection = car accident --> cops + wallet without a license -->  When it rains, it pours.  It was not a good day.  And i was so happy leaving work early today.

So its been a while..... sooooooooooo here is an update.  My first rotation in Palos Heights ended.  It was my first, so i learned a lot, made some new friends and enjoyed a semblance of a summer.  My second rotation at Great Lakes Naval  Health Clinic began 3  weeks ago and so far.... i'm loving it!  Its way up north, so i moved into Dave's 1 bedroom apt in which i'm going to have a dinner/potluck early in october so try to  leave that saturday free my friends.    Its small, but cozy and i'm getting used to being  kind of on my own without being lonely.  But i wake up at 5 am every morning to go to work by 6:30.... Me and two other girls rotate among three buildings and take care of new recruits and active duty personnel's eyes.  Every day to every question I ask I get a "Yes Maam!  No Maam!  I'm not sure Maam!"  Great Lakes is the only Naval boot camp in the nation so there are a lot of frightened and anxious recruits.  It was so funny on the first day when me and my class mate walked into the main building where a hundred pair of eyes turned and looked at us.... But its nice to actually take care of a group who actually do appreciate your efforts.  I was getting real sick of some patients out there who think you're wasting their time.

I'm getting used to the going to work early.  My sister has finally moved out of my parents' as well and attending pharm school.  So far she's loving it.  Last weekend me and Dave were bored sitting at home so we went out to Lincoln Park and had some beer and wings at J. Barleycorn and then since they didn't have a Dj spinning sunday night, we hit upthe APT.  Oh my gosh i haven't been there in so long but the music was good and I had a good time.  Dave drank enough to dance and we stopped cuz my feet hurt.  This weekend is C+B's wedding.... Its going to be beautiful and i know we'll all have a great time.  Tomorrow is the rehearsal so i'm driving straight down to Oak Brook from Great Lakes after work.

Boards II is around the corner so b4 i have to study hard again, i wanted to go out again....9/22.  Call me if anyone wants to meet up.  I was thinking of trying out some bars on Rush/Division?

*Cc i made a consult appt w/ grace for next week.  I'll let you know how it goes when you come back from your HM.
*Stephi chan... i was watching some old anime episodes and realized how much Nihongo i've forgotten.    Hope all is well w/ you!

According to Dave, its time for an update.

Started my 1st rotation in Palos Heights.  The drive isn't bad.... it beats driving to chicago although the mileage is the same.  I love one of the retina doctors.... he is such a wonderful teacher... i wish all teachers had that kind of enthusiasm to transfer knowledge to their students.... but i feel like i'm learning a lot.

Dave has gotten a well deserved break by not taking a summer class.  He has been salivating for either a PS3 or a flat screen 24" computer monitor.... poor thing, he deserves a new toy but too bad I'm working for no pay so can't help him out....

one of my O2 sensors in my car is out, so i'm driving with the "service engine soon" light on.  I should go get it replaced but its $300!!!  Gahhh.

I signed with a photographer for my wedding... xoxo to Charlene for finding him, I don't think i'll be disappointed!

i want to go see shrek 3 and that Transformers movie looks good....

Monday night after a final, 4 hours of work, then 4 hours of clinic, I find my car in the ICO parking garage with a sizable dent to drivers side with blue paint on it.  It radiated upwards and put a big ol crack on the paint, and of course there is no note.  Of course when i got to school that morning, there were no cars next to mine to be aware of, and when i got to my car that night, there are no cars, but a remnant of a hit.  People suck.  You'd think being students at a professional school would have include people with a slightly increased level of decency and responsibility after damaging someone elses car...but no, i'm proven wrong.  What a shitty way to end my 3rd year.
